1854: After two years of planning, Johnathan's wedding gift to Clara -- a grand resort hotel -- enters construction
1864: Hotel construction completes, but the opening is delayed due to Clara's 'illness'
1865: The Forsythe Hotel, named for Clara's father, opens for the Fall vacation season
1865: Clara gives birth to fraternal twins, Emma and Eric
1870: During a summer visit to aid Clara's 'illness', five-year-old Emma drowns in the bathtub of Room 136
1892: Johnathan suffers a fatal heartattack during a spring visit to the hotel; the following night, Clara slips on the top step of the stairs and falls, suffering a broken neck and dying on the lobby floor
1902: Eric Ivy marries Susan Daywood, but he refuses to visit the hotel
1906: Susan gives birth to fraternal twins, Jonas and Claire
1911: After several years, Eric relents to his wife's pleas and takes his family to the hotel for the summer; five-year-old Claire drowns in the bathtub of Room 139; two nights later, Eric is found dead in the basement with his wrists slit
1912 - 1928: Forsythe Hotel is closed by Susan, the heir for her husband's estate, but she passes on in her sleep and the hotel is reopened by Jonas
1928: Jonas, the last of the Ivy family, chooses to sell the Forsythe to an undisclosed buyer for $500,000.00
1930: After losing most of the money from the sale of the Forsythe in the market crash of 1929, Jonas returns to the Forsythe where he hangs himself in the Presidential Suite, leaving behind his wife, Katherine, and two-year-old fraternal twins, Erica and Emery
1950: Having used most of the $100,000 insurance policy left by her husband, Katherine and her now twenty-two-year-old children are invited by the 'management' of the Forsythe to come and stay the winter season
1951: Katherine jumps to her death from the Presidential Suite's window
1952: Last seen walking up the attic stairs, Erica disappears in the Forsythe
1953-1996: Emery is employed by the 'management' as the Forsythe's desk clerk until his death at the age of 69 due to a fatal heartattack, claiming with his last breath that he'd found his sister in the attic, but no body was ever recovered for Erica Ivy
1996-2006: All members of the Ivy family are long dead and The Management continues to run the Forsythe with frightening efficiency and popularity, despite the numerous scandals associated with the hotel
