Winter Dreams

Beta: Half Elf Lost

2: sugared cherries

December 2nd

"No, Ecthelion!" Glorfindel scolded for the umpteenth time that afternoon. "If you keep eating the sweets, there will be none for the King and his family. I thought that was why you demanded I help you with this!"

The two Elf-lords were covered in flour, butter, and some sticky jam Ecthelion had insisted on glazing the small cakes with. Well, the small *cake*, since Ecthelion had also eaten most of their day's work.

Ecthelion licked his lips, red from the cherries he had also consumed. "I am sorry, Glorfindel; I love sweets."

"You are dangerous in the kitchen, meldir," Glorfindel grumbled as he measured more flour into a large bowl. "You eat everything in sight, *and* you somehow manage to injure any and all in your vicinity. How can such a glorious warrior and accomplished lover," Glorfindel added, grinning up at the dark-haired Elf, "be such a menace in the kitchen?"

Ecthelion paused, as if thinking, before he leaned over and kissed Glorfindel on the cheek, accidentally knocking the bowl from the counter so that it shattered on the floor at Glorfindel's feet. He had the decency to look ashamed as he gazed up at Glorfindel's angry face. "A natural talent, I suppose."

"Next year, I am locking you in our room! You are a hazard!" Glorfindel grunted in frustration as he bent to clean up the mess.
